It was her first day back at Hogwarts and Cho wanted to get a head start on her schoolwork. The Ravenclaw Common Room was all a bustle with friends reuniting, chatter about their new classes and how to open their "Monster Book of Monsters" Hagrid assigned them to read. She had to find some piece and quiet. She went to her dormitory and quickly changed out of her school robe and into a Cozy Blue Sweater. She grabbed her scrolls, books and a blanket and left the Ravenclaw Tower.
On her way to the lawn she stopped by The Great Hall and grabbed some fruit. Stepping outside of the castle she took a deep breath. Autumn was coming and she could tell it in the colors of the leaves and the crispness of the chill in the air. This being her favorite time of year it isn't hard to come up with an excuse to go outside. Finding a nice quiet spot she laid out her blanket and sat up. Having just finished Defense Against the Dark Arts Class she pulled out her wand and book began practicing the wand motions for Riddikulus.

Fred was bored today. He was going from class to class, doing the usual first day stuff, and he was bored out of his mind. He wanted to practice more spells and work on his jokes. Gryffindor common room was filled with first years today and Fred was letting them take it all in. He remembered how it was when he was a first year, and he would never forget it. Fred knew the first years would get to know him and George pretty well. They would soon know the epicness that was Fred and George Weasley.
Fred wanted a break from everything. He walked out to the lawn and saw Cho Chang there. He smiled and walked over to her, "Hello," he said to her. He extended his hand to shake hers, but of course he had a buzzer in it. "Doing some early studying?" he asked her.

Cho was in the middle of the deep valley motion in the Riddikulus Charm when Fred walked up. She switched which hand her wand was in. "Ha---"gasp. She wasn't expecting the buzzer, she should have known better. She'll try to remember this the next time he asks for a handshake.
"What are you up to? Looking forward for Quidditch to start." She offered not sure if she should ask him to join her.

He nodded. "Yes," he said to her. He was anxious for Quidditch. "And you then? What are you looking forward to?" Fred asked her curiously. He sat down next to her "Chocolate Frog?" he offered. He had raided the candy cart on the train.
Fred enjoyed his chocolates and treats, "What classes do you have today?" he asked her.

Cho passed on the chocolate frog thinking it best to stay away from things Fred offered her. "I'm looking forward for the Quidditch season to start. I'm hoping some of the new Ravenclaw players will show some promise." She said confidently.
"Let's see." She said looking up at the sky before turning back to Fred. "Today I took Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Double Arithmancy and Defense Against the Dark Arts. I really like Professor Lupin. I think we'll learn alot from him this year. How are your classes going?"
She grabbed an apple from her basket and took a bite of it. She offered the basket of grapes and apples to him incase he wanted a healthy treat after his chocolate frog.

Fred grinned, "Well, the Ravenclaw team may show promise this year, but Gryffindor will dominate," he teased her. He just loved the competitiveness of it all.
"Magical Creatures, yes, Hagrid is good at that one," he said. "I like Professor Lupin," Fred agreed. "I think Harry likes him too." he said. "From what I can tell we might actually learn something in Dark Arts this year," he was joking of course. Thats what he did.
Fred smiled at her and took some of the grapes, "Thanks for that," he said.

Cho nodded instead of saying your welcome to Fred for the grapes. "Hagrid had a good idea but with students like Malfoy it probably wasn't the most appropriate thing to start us off with meeting a Hippogryff. Though Harry did look happy flying on it. It must have been exhilarating. I wish I would have gotten the chance after watching Harry do so well with it. Oh well...." she let her voice trail off as she thought of how frightening and exciting it must be to fly on a living beings back. It is one thing to fly on a broom that you are in complete control of than something that can change it's mind and ignore your orders. "Speaking of flying I've been practicing flying faster on my broom this year. I'm hoping to catch more snitches." She took another bite of her apple it was sweet and crisp like the air. It was so lovely to be out. She was very confident in her abilities to bring more to her Quidditch game.

"A Hippogryff huh?" He frowned a bit curious. "Curious.... I need to look that up," he muttered. He rolled his eyes about Malfoy. "Ya Malfoy doesn't know how to have fun!" he exclaimed.
He listened to her speak about Quidditch some, he grinned, "Wanna race then?" he asked her. If she was faster he figured a race couldn't hurt.
He was up for a race. He hadn't played much all summer and he wanted to practice even though that wasn't his Quidditch job really but still. It would be fun! He grinned and grabbed his broom, "Come on Cho, show me what you got!" he said eagerly.

Cho taking another bite of her apple considered Fred's challenge. She did love a good challenge and it had been a few days since she had flown. Then again, where would she put her belongings and she wasn't exactly dressed for a race.
"Alright Fred, let's meet at the Quidditch Pitch in 20 minutes. That will give us enough time to change into more appropriate clothes and for me to put my belongings in the locker room." She replied holding a hand out to Fred confident of her response and pulled it back after a moment remembering his buzzer. "Or do you need more time to prepare?"

Fred grinned and nodded, "No no, 20 minutes is plenty," he said with a smile. He was ready. He wanted to practice his speed for Quidditch anyway. He was really getting excited for the season and he knew that his team would dominate. Well, he hoped they would anyway. With a smile, he finished his grapes and chocolate and got ready, "See you there Chang, may the best....um whatever, win," he smiled a bit and headed towards the Quidditch patch.
